Improving the world, One bee at a time

Our Story

We started out with a swarm coming into our backyard, frightened into what to do next, we called a beekeeper (my father in-law) into helping us. George provided a sense of calm and explained they wont hurt you, unless you threaten the queen

We researched all about bees and how to care for them. Even to the smallest creatures, we should have care and respect. They are here to help us, not hurt us

We decided to build our own bee hive in the cubby house as the kids don't use it anymore.  We wanted to turn into an area where we can safely watch the bees work and safely extract the honey

Our family goes up into the cubby house and we learn together how to manage bees. We care for them and they care for us with the great tasting honey they collect from the Aspendale area

Once you try 100% raw organic honey, you will never go back!!

Bees can inspire and motivate you

My bees cover over one thousand square kilometers of land that I do not own in their foraging flights, flying from flower to flower for which I pay no rent, stealing nectar but pollinating plants in return

If we lose bees, we may be looking at losing apples and oranges. We may be looking at losing a great deal of other crops, as well, and other animals that depend on those crops

I have a huge belief in the importance of bees, not just for their honey, which is a healing and delicious food, but the necessity of bee colonies that are vital to the health of the planet

Natural, properly preserved honey will not expire. In fact, archeologists found honey thousands of years old in ancient Egyptian tombs, and it was still good!

Where once I was scared of Bees, I now have a greater love and appreciation for how they grow and  thrive together and how each of them have a role to play to survive

The worker bees are female (85%) and the drone bees are male (15%) with 1 Queen bee that lives for approx. 6-7 years laying over 1 million eggs determining what sex each bee will be!
